Our quiet 'Nantucket Style' sea side cottages in Bristol Rhode Island are perched directly on our private beach front property and offer sparkling waters, soft summer breezes and rhythmic waves on the sea shore. Nantucket Hydrangea cottage is one of three Sea Side Cottages overlooking the soft breezy tranquil waters and offer a panoramic view of the Mt. Hope Bay. For most of us a dream of floating would involve a boat and water or a magical ride in the air. But here at Bristol Sails Cottages you can feel suspended overlooking the water as if you are dreaming and surrounded by the sea. It is the perfect spot to sip your morning coffee watching the red sunrise or have a glass of wine watching the captains billowing sails go by towards their open sea adventure. A balmy night, the moonlit sea, a soft breeze, the infusion of fresh sea air throughout the house, sultry music together with a dazzling view of twinkling lights across the bay bridge make for one of the most memorable evenings of the summer! You won't want to leave your front porch! The coastal appeal, cushy down pillows, hand rolled towels and your personal platters of treats awaits your arrival!
Nantucket Hydrangea Cottage offers a cozy gas fireplace , flat screen TV, 9 glass doors that lead to a deck overlooking the beach. 5 steps down to your private pergola covered patio over looking the beach. Our quiet New England cove offers a king size Mahogany Canopy bed featuring designer linens , large oak fireplace, open floor plan, high ceilings, white bead board, glass kitchen cabinets filled with our Blue and White English China which is a nice appointment for tea and scones or fresh lobster salad which is plentiful here in Bristol. The kitchen features a stove, oven and farmhouse sink. Second and third cottages are also available next door. The cottage is surrounded by bright blue periwinkle hydrangeas. A secluded beach front hideaway and breathtaking ocean front views. Chaise lounge chairs and dining table for your alfresco dining by the sea.
Calm mornings offer mirrored seas when all you can hear are the sea birds. Dramatic days watching the billowing sails of Captains Ships glide by against the sparkling waters. Evenings where the big sky is filled with stars over the twinkling of the distant bridge.
Spending a week is not enough time to adventure everywhere.
Autumn in Bristol - In early autumn the low slanting rays of the sun illuminate the tops of the sea grasses and the now amber purple heads of the hydrangeas that were once a bright periwinkle blue over the summer. Harvest Festivals, Quahog Festivals and Farmer Markets abound in Bristol and local near by towns.
Local wine is left for you in the fridge along with your personal platter of treats upon your arrival! We are open winter, spring, summer or fall. We decorate and suggest visits during our towns celebrations each season. Of course Fourth of July is a pinnacle in Bristol and is exciting to experience right down to our Red, White and Blue stripped streets! Although there is much to to here, many of our guests just
spend your time on our patio outside overlooking the beach relaxing on our comfortable padded chaise lounge chairs.
Some of our guests fish directly in front of the house for their catch of the day. You can shell all day and walk the beach or take your own boat, call for our mooring availability and capacity. Anyone who wants a get away for a special occasion or just a vacation, this is a special place to come and not far from any adventure, including the fantastic Newport Mansions, Polo Grounds, Roger Williams Zoo, the stately homes of Bristol, our favorite casual restaurants, golf, etc...
Come prepared for anything, or just bring your flip flops and enjoy being at home on the beach!

Absolutely fabulous girls trip !
My two friends and I rented this property and it was absolutely perfect . A perfect quaint New England home on the bay that catered to all our needs . I can’t wait to come back and do it again. I’ve never had such a relaxed trip . We had coffee on the porch every morning watching the gorgeous sunrise and wine on the landing every night listening to the sounds of the water . Thanks for a great vacation !
Magnificent water front cottage.
Splendid view with perfect decor inside. When we stepped into this charming cottage, we found fresh fruits and pastries....we will definitely coming back again.
A deep breath by the water
When we booked this cottage we were hoping for a few days to rest and catch our breath from a hectic summer. It was wonderful! Peaceful mornings watching the sun rise over the water, evenings with a glass on wine on the beach front patio. While just one room it feels spacious and so welcoming. We loved our stay!
