RENTAL IS SUNDAY TO SUNDAY (With some exceptions in off season) Our just renovated beachfront cottage, "Mermaids," offers you a unique coastal experience in a vacation rental. This oceanfront home is located right on the coast with breath-taking views of the beach, dunes, and Atlantic Ocean from the front porch and upper deck. Within minutes of shopping and dining experiences, "Mermaids" is one block off the Atlantic Beach Circle - where both young and old can find activities to do provided by the town government. Due to the island's east-west geography, the unique ability of observing both sunrise and sunset from the convenience of both decks is available.

"Mermaids" is a three story home with enough space to spread out. The ocean view on the lower and upper level is spectacular. There is a hot tub and brand new grill on the lower level. On the ground level is the game room with a television and Foosball table. Additionally, storage of your boogie, skim, and surf boards as well as the washer and dryer room are on this level. The main level of the house has the kitchen, dining room, living room as well as three bedrooms - one with a King bed while the other two have one queen-size bed each. The upper level has two bedrooms - the first bedroom has a king with queen sleeper sofa and brand new wet bar with coffee station. The kids' room has three twin and one queen . The living room, second floor bedroom with king bed as well as the upper level bedrooms have spectacular views of the ocean. There are 5 TVs with cable in three of the bedrooms and living room and lower level playroom.

Family Vacation at The Mermaid House
My family has been vacationing at Atlantic Beach for over 3 decades, so we love this beach community. This was our first time staying in this property and we will be back. We will return because of so many reasons. First, it is at a great location for everything! The area was quiet and we felt at home for the week. The house was clean - a critical factor we always have as a priority. It is a quintessential family beach home that is harder and harder to find. The house has charm and is authentic. The kitchen was really well equipped and we had everything we needed, including a wonderful grill on the deck. The number of bedrooms and beds gave some extra space to spread out. The three indoor bathrooms along with the outdoor shower (with hot and cold water) gave us plenty of options for the 8 adults and 3 kids. And we NEVER ran out of hot water! The especially enjoyed having the two decks and used them as extra "living space" . The home was always comfortable and the two window AC units in the upstairs bedrooms were helpful in keeping upstairs comfortable - including during the heat of the day. We were able to easily park 4 cars, including an extra large SUV. Easy access to the beach was especially nice with the three kids going back and worth. And the property owner was very responsive when we had a couple of questions. He is obviously committed to making sure his guests have a wonderful experience at the "Mermaid House" - and we did. Anniversary celebration get away
We loved celebrating our 47th Anniversary at Mermaids. The decks were awesome. Upper deck off the master suite was our favorite. The hot-tub and outdoor shower on the lower deck were wonderful. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets and sunrises. The inside was decorated beautifully......everything just welcomed you to the beach. There were only 2 of us so of course we had more than enough room. Even though Mermaids had enough beds to accommodate 12 people, I think it would have been pretty crowded when trying to fix meals in the little kitchen. The 2 bathrooms in the main part of the house were a bit small and taking turns with 12 people would be a challendge.

Wonderful Stay
We had a great time. Beautiful view and easy access to the beach. More than enough room for us and love the feeling of being at home.
