Come and enjoy the ultimate Alaskan experience from your doorstep. Stay in a rustic Alaskan log cabin and in the winter enjoy a dog sled ride from your doorstep.
Our cozy log cabin is self contained and secluded in a beautiful forest setting just outside Fairbanks in the Goldstream Valley. Only 12 miles from downtown Fairbanks and 20 minutes from the airport, the Goldstream Valley is famous for dog mushing, ski trails and aurora viewing in winter. Located only 5 miles from the local downhill ski area, Moose Mountain. In summer, the area boasts great mountain biking trails (Ester Dome single-track), access to hiking and panoramic views of the Fairbanks area.
There is great views of the pond and aurora when it is out, that you can see from the comfort of your bed in the bedroom in the winter.
Designed to give you a real Alaskan wilderness experience, the Denali Adventure log cabin was handcrafted by your host using local spruce trees. Wildlife frequent the area, including moose, fox and sandhill cranes. There are several sled-dog kennels located in the area where you will hear their occasional distant howls floating across the tree tops. Every effort has been made to make this accommodation a typical rustic and authentic Alaskan cabin in harmony with its natural surroundings.
The cabin comfortably sleeps up to 4 people with a double bed in the loft and a fold-out sofa/futon in the downstairs lounge. There is a full, self-contained kitchen. The cabin is rustic but modern. In keeping with the Alaskan tradition of simplicity and low environmental impact, the toilet is a typical Alaskan outhouse, which is located outside the cabin. There is a separate sauna and shower building 10 feet from the cabin. There is a woodstove that is used to heat up the water for your shower. In the meantime there is seating in there for you to have a sauna while this is happening.
From October to April (when the snow conditions allow), Simon also offers 1 hour dog sled rides for our guests at $95 per person. You will meet the dog team, watch how they are harnessed and then ride on the sled while he takes you on an exhilarating ride through the forested trails. See what our guests have said about our dog sled tours on Tripadvisor. Type in "Alaskiwi Adventures".
There is a restaurant, store/market, laundry and gas station conveniently located less than one mile down the road. Please note that sometimes in the summer when it rains too much or there is too much snow in the in winter access to the carpark may be restricted, but we will provide you with an alternative place to park to have easy access to the cabin.
Once a gold rush boomtown, Fairbanks is now Alaska’s second largest city after Anchorage. In the summer, the sun shines for nearly 24 hours a day giving you lots of time to do the many activities such as panning for gold, floating the Chena River, mingling with reindeer and musk oxen, cooling off in an ice museum, or taking a refreshing hike, or be inspired by local art galleries, museums, and historic sites.
Late August to April you have a great chance to see the shimmering light of the aurora borealis. In the winter there are host of activities such as dog mushing, snow mobile trips and skiing, as well as soaking in hot pools of Chena Hot Springs.

Stunning views with
Simon was helpful and knowledgeable. Wish we could have got to chat with him more. (Our fault not his). Cabin was equipped with just about everything you could need on a trip. You can tell that a lot of thought and effort goes into making sure the stay is enjoyable. I also now know why people come up here for a visit and stay.

Beautiful, quiet, clean. Feels farther from the city than it is. Loved hearing the sled dogs.
