You will be close to everything important when you visit Tallahassee, the capital city of Florida, as within 2 miles of Woodlands Guesthouse you will be right near FSU, and near Florida’s state capitol building. Super convenient to restaurants and shopping, you can just relax and enjoy the Tallahassee weather. You could even rent a car at the Tallahassee airport, which is only 6 miles away, and be here in no time! Feel like taking a bit of time for fun on some Florida beaches? You can drive to a gorgeous sandy, secluded beach in only 45 minutes. We are also very close to a lot of fun things to do in Tallahassee and are very near to parks and rec, even within walking distance!
You may have travelled hours to get here and now can happily relax as you pull your car into our private driveway, your own convenient parking space directly next to the guesthouse. A quiet, serene and cozy private place to stay in Tallahassee with nature and tall trees surrounding you, you will feel a great sense of peace in our safe, extremely clean, well-maintained surroundings. As you walk from your car next to the guesthouse, you will find a welcome break from the heat with the screened in seasonally heated private 40 foot swimming pool. Enjoy the wonder of the treehouse feel with your own private balcony; perfect for overlooking the sunrise on the lake for morning coffee. Your time spent here at Woodlands Guesthouse will feel like a getaway, coming away feeling refreshed, at peace and fully rested.
Get a really great nights’ sleep on a beautifully made and comfortable bed with soft linens that can either be a turned into a king bed or 2 twin XL beds, depending on your travel needs. Allergy sufferers will be thankful this is a very low dust property without pet dander and other major allergens due to the laminate wood flooring and window blinds instead of curtains. As we only use natural and eco-friendly amenities, such as shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hand wash and body lotion, you can feel good about staying in a place kind to the environment. Listen to the radio or play a CD to relax or just to listen to while you are getting ready to head out for the day with the radio/CD player. A yoga mat is in the room for anyone who loves a bit of yoga/meditation time.
Family friendly! We want our guests with small children to feel welcome and enjoy the pool and other amenities, like a pack n play travel crib, children's toys and books, a baby bath and high chair.
We have a futon that can become a twin sized bed in the living area with bedding always at hand in the armoire.
We have tried to create a great Airbnb experience for you to make for a memorable stay. Relax on the evenings with our 31” TV with Directv or if you decide to bring your own portable devices, we have power strips next to the bed and with our high speed Wi-Fi, you are all set. Tallahassee weather can turn rainy in an instant, and that’s why you will keep entertained with our vast selection of fun travel games and crosswords.
With the ability to cook meals in the fully functioning kitchenette, you won’t have to worry about grabbing every meal out. We have a convection toaster oven that can toast, bake and broil. A microwave oven, induction burner with a frying pan and 2 pots, steamer, cooking utensils, mixing and serving bowls.
Feel like you are right at home with use of our own iron, ironing board and hair dryer along with a full length mirror.
For our business travelers, if you need to get work done during your stay, there is strong Wi-Fi and a large desk to spread everything out on, a really comfortable desk chair and a power strip to plug everything in.
Private use of screened in 40 ft pool and veranda, private entrance/exit and driveway for off street parking. Please note the guesthouse is up a flight of stairs so this property is not wheelchair friendly, sorry. Guests access the property via Mor Bihan Road (a private road) and through their own private driveway.
You will probably feel rather secluded, especially if this is what you were after, but if you happen to see me or my husband, we’ll be happy to chat. Our home is separated from the guesthouse with the pool in the middle of the two homes.
Woodlands Guesthouse is located in the SE side of Tallahassee, about 2 miles from FSU. It is located in the Woodland Drives neighborhood, winner of the Best Neighborhood in Tallahassee in 2010 and 2009. Much of our neighborhood is part of the Myers Park Historic District, comprised of 362 acres with 229 parcels of land.
The airport is 6 miles away. The 1-10 is about 5 miles away via Monroe Street. There is plenty to see and do that is within walking distance.
Note:
The kitchenette also comprises of a fridge, coffee maker, set of 4 dinner plates, bowls and mugs. It also contains set of glasses, wine glasses, champagne glasses, a wine bottle opener as well as a set of silverware (for 4). There is also cooking oil, salt and pepper.
The room has a hair dryer, iron, ironing board, toilet paper, towels, beach towels (in season), sheets, extra pillows and blankets, eco-friendly natural toiletries including: hand wash, 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner, body lotion, body wash. We also supply 2 complimentary bottles of water, a snack, coffee and tea. You're set!
We have adopted a small rescue dog but this is on us, the owner's property only, and has never been in or near the guesthouse property.
Please note that I do not accept long term rentals on the property, which includes a semester.

Everything I needed for my stay.
This studio has all you need for a comfortable stay. I liked the kitchen area especially. Best of all, I liked the option whether to interact or not with the hosts. I preferred the solitude, but appreciated that there was someone I could talk to nearby.

Great place to stay in Tallahassee
We enjoyed our stay in the Woodlands Guesthouse very much. Jennifer could not have been more responsive and helpful (including rescuing the jacket and tie my husband mistakenly left in the wardrobe). The location was very convenient, the accommodations cozy and comfortable, and we had everything we needed and more. We hope to stay at the Woodlands Guesthouse whenever we are in Tallahassee. Highly recommended.
